Tigole!

forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=86646571&sid=1

“You’ve all read my opinions on such things as tedious key camps, obvious time sinks devoid of any story or linear narrative, quests which reward the lucky over the skilled and quest rewards which are out of synch with the amount of time and effort required to complete them.”

Fix your goddamn buggy bull##@% half-assed encounters. The amount of time we dedicated to get our keys to see this guy die and take a turn at the Emperor is just sick. To finally see Blood die only to have the ENTIRE raid DT’d from anywhere in the room was simply an insult. Blood dies, there are two earrings on the corpse, yet no matter where you are in the room, the Emperor DT’s. So congrats rot on those. It’s cheap enough to make a mob DT in the first place. But to have his agro radius extend to the entire room is ridiculous. So let me get this straight — and this is how you guys envisioned this in San Diego: You spend months farming keys to get up to the room. Months farming Shissar Bane weapons (and the recipe is where?). You kill Blood while dealing with 8 other snakes in the room. And immediately after that fight you’re supposed to engage the DEATHTOUCHING-FROM-ANYWHERE-IN-THE-ROOM Emperor along with the 8 snakes? Whoever came up with this sheer *fisting* of an encounter can go !**# themselves. Do me a favor so I don’t waste my guild’s time on this kind of jackass ##@%-fest again, send me an email at tigole@legacyofsteel.net when you decide to A) Implement an encounter that wasn’t designed by a retarded chimp chained to a cubicle B) Get a Quality Assuarance Department C) Actually beta test the !**#ing thing and D) Patch it live. And please for god’s sake — do it in the order I laid out for you. Don’t worry, I won’t charge you a consulting fee on that one. And for good luck you might as well E) Pull your heads out of your asses. While you’re at it rename the game to BetaQuest since you’ve used up you’re alotted false advertising karma on the Bazaar and user interface scam of ‘01.

Fix the Emperor encounter. Fix Seru. Rethink your time-sink bull##@%. Fix all the buggy mother!**#ing ring encounters (I suggest you let whoever made the Burrower one do this since that dude apparently laid off the crack the rest of you were smoking). Fix the VT key quest. Fix VT (just guessing it’s !**#ed up considering your track record). Don’t have the resources to fix this stuff? Move the ENTIRE Planes of Power team over to fixing Shadows of Luclin AND DO IT NOW. If you don’t fix Luclin, you jackassess will be the only ones playing the Planes of Power.

Trashball.

Raid-ditching excuses

forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=86843619&sid=1

This one wasn’t even a fabricated excuse: we were in the middle of BWL many moons ago when our MT says on vent, “!!%@, guys, I have to go for a few because the cops are here”. So, we’re sitting around for a while just picking our noses, going over strats, making fun of each others’ moms, the usual raid banter. Finally, after a prolonged absence our MT comes back and explains how he got into an argument with his roommate and she pulled a knife on him which required him to have to choke a @@#%#. She called the cops and there was this whole huge fiasco which eventually led to the cops arresting and dragging off the roommate. Then he came back and tanked stuff, ???, profit.

I used this one in a #%@#ty shadow labs.

“#%@# GUYS MY WATER JUST BROKE!”

I then had our guild leader pose as my husband and say that he had to take me to the hospital. Tank fell for it too, which made it so much better.

i remember when we had nef to about 20% for the first time my bro came in saying i needed to take him to the hospital, i said piss off until he showed me his shoulder was sitting down like 6 inches…. so i was bbl bro fuked his shoulder up… we didn’t kill nef

Sorry guys, gotta go build a gazebo

Funniest thing was, he was canadian.

i’ve got a couple gems, first one is something i’ve not experienced firsthand, but apparently there was this guy in Soldiers of Hate a long time ago who would leave in the middle of like strat to go shoot a kangaroo in his yard (he was australian)

second, we have a paladin who constantly goes afk to go get some chicken, no lie.

its always:

HAY GUYS AFK CHICKEN

tonight it was during prince and the trash that had respawned after shade.

I may or may not have been put in FFXI jail for something similar.

Edit: Just to clarify, this screenshot isn’t of me. It was linked to me online and I have no idea who it is, but it is funny.

It's no Primal Might X5, but you just wait.

Best results so far from a synth of 20. Notice the double proc at 11:51:52. Do I smell a proc off a proc? Yes I think so. Still awaiting my first DISCOVERY…

Spiritual Attunement will be nerfed

A passive ability that gives the Paladin mana when healed by other friendly targets. The amount of mana gained is equal to 10% of the amount healed.

Start the countdown. I doubt they intended this to be a healer regen ability, and certainly didn’t think of VE when designing it. It will either be converted into a “while tanking only” ability, or they will remove the mana regen while you are at full HP, or they will give mana for direct heals only, or all of the above.

BC lvl 70 warrior tank talent and gear guides

I don’t agree with 100% of his talent ideas, but generally, it’s solid. The gear list is a little wonky in spots, but it’s a good resource.

For random reference, here’s the build I would use for 5 man warrior tanking:

www.wowhead.com/?talent=TA0czZZfqtsI0zcest

The gist of this build is maximizing rage conservation and threat building along with the defensive mainstays. I used to dis imp Revenge, but the stun will be very helpful in Heroics. Anticipation is a flat bonus and can be acquired via gear. Improved taunt is highly overrated.

2.1.0 Cleave Changes

forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=86009546&sid=1

The following changes to cleave have been made for the 2.1.0 patch.

–Cleaves will only hit people in front of the creature.
–Cleaves will have a chain length equal to the combat reach of the creature.

We still don’t have an exact estimate on when this patch will be ready but development is wrapping up and the test phase should begin relatively soon. As a reminder, the patch undergoes internal testing before public, PTR testing.

Ok that at least allows the affected classes to stand in range of targets and do the job they are intended to do. Still don’t know exactly how Rogues fit into instances that require mass CC at all times. I can’t exactly gouge or poison kite something that hits for 5-10K.

How to equalize the raiding game?

forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=83748830&sid=1

Blizzard’s dysfunction so far is that they have failed to provide a light at the end of the tunnel for small, skilled hardcore guilds. There is but a single way for a serious player to advance his or her character at max level, and it is to sign one’s soul away to a large raiding guild.

Heroics are the answer to this problem. Blizzard needs to finally look in the mirror and admit that both 25-man and Heroic 5/10-man content are legitimate and bless both groups of players with equivalent itemization progression. Here is how things would be in an ideal world:

1. If you like being in an 80-man guild and enjoy dominating mega bosses with a huge group of people, good for you. You will continually have access to all the content in the game and strong epic items to advance your character towards newer, harder dungeons.

2. If you like being in a 5/10-man guild and enjoy doing ultra clean runs with people you deeply know and trust, good for you also. Heroic instances provide you the opportunity to earn strong epic items, IF you are skilled enough to clear them (that was a big if). These epics will allow your characters to match the same gear check the 25-man raiders will face in the next Heroic instance.

Tell me how the above scenario would be harmful to WoW (barring the standard “I want a huge gear gap so I can use my tag-along-earned-hide-in-the-5th-group epics to leverage a huge advantage in PVP and feel good about myself.. errrr because 25-man content is so much harder more epic feeling”)?

If Blizzard equalized the risk/reward for both raid sizes (and this is feasable), they would be instantly empowered to implement extremely difficult Heroic instances that paid out fun and powerful items. The worry about the blues VS purples balancing debacle would vanish, because the gear gap for proven players would be so tight that anyone who earned the right to be in the instances could enter and run them.

Scrubs will always be mediocre, so leave them wallow in the land of questing and moderately successful 5 man instance runs on Normal mode. Do not however lump everyone who doesn’t want to join a massive guild into the same group and doom hardcore small guilds to a future of confused blues and limited serious character advancement.

Martial Science

Where do Heroics fit in?

forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=81964653&postId=819785606&sid=1#5

In my opinion the main itemization progression in WoW should be via 5/10-man Heroic instances.

The evolutionary (and needed) stat gap created in this fashion would be due to lack of ability, not lack of desire to join a massive guild. If they mega buff the 25-man epics (which I think they soon will), we are back into the land of WoW 1.0. In this wasteland small, talented guilds were spit on and there was no reason to play the game unless you were punching the 60-man guild raid time clock.

The problem with a gear gap based on willingness to tag along for large-cap raids is that it prevents future design achievements and forces serious gamers to play only one way, like rats in a maze. You simply cannot implement a worthy, progression-grade-gear-yielding new 10-man instance if it’s a steamroll for the 25-man purple people and an impossible gear check for the loner hardcore people in maxed-out blues.

They need to keep the gear gap tight (for skilled players) while finding a way to alternatively reward the people who prefer to raid in huge groups. Instances with a larger cap are warranted for encounters like Illidan, but using the max raid size as the only avenue of hardcore PVE character progression is sad.

Implementing a 5/10-man Heroic progression structure would be the best thing the developers could do to ensure the long term success and community respect of WoW. The upgrade confusion is currently causing people to react violently, but the solution is NOT to go back to WoW 1.0. Be bold, Blizzard. All it takes is a few more Karazhans (with Heroic mode added) and a few less Serpentshrines and you are well on your way.

Blizzard says:

The changes being made to Druids were done due to the fact that their damage, mitigation and hitpoints were higher than intended. We based our decision on internal tests, not complaints or feedback from other classes. Even with these changes, Druids will still be viable tanks, and very capable in player vs. player encounters.

Observant player says:

Here comes my forum ban.

But, you guys have lied to us before, and you are lying to us again. Just because you type in blue ink doesn’t make it true.

You sir, are a liar. You are paid to lie, but you are a liar non the less.

This is no difference then the “Oh, we accidentally gave druids the ability to quaff potions” bull you tried to cover up.

You CHANGED certain items, and put druid usable tags on them and then gave us the ability to use them in prebc beta.

Then, you CLAIMED that we where given the ability to use consumables by mistake, beacuse you gave us the ability to talk in animal form. And you took the ability away and change the item tags so they did not say “Warrior, Druid” > Rage potions and “Druid, Rogue” > thistle Tea

That was a load of bunk, if the ability to use consumables had been an accident caused by a change to the character, it would not have changed the item flags/tags/bits on another item.

so please, do not lie through your teeth and expect the community to be stupid enough to just believe it cause you type in blue ink.

Hahah:

In short, get the hell out of forums with your trash.
