Their reasoning being that it is better to reward good behavior than punish bad behavior, also they had some other good reasons about situations where a harsh newbie kill penalty would make decision making quite awkward.

The introduction of a PvP penalty system opens the doors to many “what if” situations.

Lets say theres a mass PvP raid with players of all levels. Are you forced to watch who you are attacking for fear that killing those players will result in a penalty?

What if a lower level player is walking around buffing players who do not have a PvP flag. So lets say he sits there and buffs people prior to fights and after they rezz. You cannot touch that person because they are not flagged for PvP.

What if a lower level player decides it’d be fun to follow you around everywhere but not attack you to make a nuisance of himself.

The system is currently very wide open. But it’s a more natural system of PvP, rather than try to figure out who you can attack and who you can’t and what are the consequences.

I have to say I agree with them for the most part, but do think that perhaps some kind of thing could be implemented to prevent a high level player from killing the same newbie many times in a row, by camping a corpse etc.

I was in Ironforge and checked the alchemy vendor and she only had some 1 gold greater potion, but not this. I messed around at the AH for a bit and ran back, and there was another guy standing at the vendor. I checked the vendor, and saw this item. I clicked it immediately and got it. Now I have Gg camped at the vendor and will try to keep it bought out so nobody else can get the recipe. Aww well.

Pretty obvious that people would be able to bot WOW fishing, just saw a link on forums for one, not sure if it is real or not. I will not be using a fishing bot.

Saw this post on bnet thought it was pretty amusing.

I think all the players in WoW should start a Payment Queue when the free trial is up. When Blizzard goes and tries to get our money from all of our credit cards, or whatever other payment option you chose, a dialoge box would appear and say “Current position in queue 200 000… Approximate time for next payment: 2319 min.”.

I made a new post category to house images called “Pics”. If you just want to see normal text posts you can click “General” and all the pics will become hidden. Likewise if you just want to see a column of image posts only, click “Pics”. If you want to revert to seeing all the posts in their normal order, either click the matching month in the Archives (”November 2004″ etc), or click the image at the top left of the page.

Queues are necessary at the beginning because thousands of players located in a very small area of the world (the new player areas) creates lag. As the population begins to disperse over the next few days the server caps will be increased.

We are constantly evaluating and adjusting them according to population distribution.

I am very happy that Blizzard decided to have a complete wipe of existing characters. Frankly it was the only sane thing to do, though their reluctance to provide a direct answer earlier was a bit creepy to me. I guess they just wanted people to keep playing and thought an early announcement might scare some away. See you all on the 23rd.

I went from 0 skill in fishing to 150 in not even 2 hours. I was just watching TV and had fish keyed to my right mouse button. I pulled out a lot of normal fish that sell for a decent amount on their own. Also got about 10 pairs of boots, one being a green rare pair. Also caught about 5 “22 pound” type of fish that can be held in offhand. Was pretty fun, but was very easy money, and who knows how much better the loot gets as you reach higher levels. This is about 5% as hard as fishing was in FFXI, so perhaps Blizzard will tone down fishing as patches come along?

I made this so I could post some updates about our characters and some good information about WoW. Maybe it is cheesy but who knows. For now public registration is closed and I am the only one who can add a user account. Once retail is up and going perhaps I will give out more accounts so people can post info of their own.
